History of Teen Challenge:

WHO WE ARE...

Teen Challenge is a faith-based drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility, which believes in a total cure for the whole man. In 1958, David Wilkerson went to New York City and minister to the "street kids" who were involved in gangs, street warfare, and crimes of every sort. At that time Reverend Wilkerson was not aware of the fact that along with the incredible rate of crime, there existed an even more menacing problem... DRUG ABUSE!  In an effort to reach the unreachable, David Wilkerson opened a home in Brooklyn, NY where these addicts and gang members could receive help.

That was just the beginning...

Today, Teen Challenge has grown to be the largest non-profit, private endeavor of it's kind in the world. Teen Challenge has centers for both adults and juveniles, male and female. Presently Teen Challenge has 220 centers in the United States and Puerto Rico, and almost 800 worldwide!

Buffalo Teen Challenge History:

Buffalo Teen Challenge Center was founded in 1978 with a vision to help hurting men who struggle with drug or alcohol addiction or other life controlling problems. For over 32 years Buffalo Teen Challenge has been serving this community and helping men that struggle with addiction.

In April 2010, Buffalo Teen Challenge changed its name to Teen Challenge of Western New York (TCWNY) and became a Regional Teen Challenge serving all of Western New York including the Greater Niagara, Buffalo and Rochester areas.
