Now: Teen Challenge of Western New York: TCWNY

Teen Challenge of Western New York  (TCWNY) is located in Downtown Buffalo at 124 Locust Street, Buffalo NY 14204. We are 2 blocks south of Buffalo General Hospital and 2 blocks East of Roswell Park Cancer Institute in the Historic "Fruit-Belt" District.Buffalo is located in extreme Western New York State next to Lake Erie and only 14 miles from Niagara Falls! It is the 2nd largest city in the State next to NYC. The population of the city is approximately 250,000 with over 2.1 million in the surrounding suburbs. The region has an active professional sports scene and is home to the NFL's Buffalo Bills and the NHL's Buffalo Sabres. The center is centrally located and very easy to access. We are conveniently located approximately 5 blocks from the Greyhound Bus Terminal (Downtown) and Amtrak Train Station on Exchange Street. Buffalo Teen Challenge Center was founded in 1978 with a vision to help hurting men who struggle with drug or alcohol addiction or other life controlling problems. TCWNY provides residential care in a positive environment with a caring staff that will help students in their beginning steps of a life free of addition                                                  

    TCWNY provides a complete lifestyle change by separating the student from his former lifestyle of drugs, alcohol, street habits, influences and conflicts.  Each day our students follow a routine and structured schedule that will provide specific times for wake-up, meals, classes, work assignments, recreation, and group or individual counseling. The program is designed to create positive behavioral changes, resulting in a healthy lifestyle free from substance abuse.

 

    The Rochester Referral Office

     Rochester Teen Challenge was established in 1968. After serving over 40 years in discipleship ministry to men, in the Greater Rochester area, as an Induction Center, RTC has been combined with the Buffalo Induction Center to form a Regional Teen Challenge. Teen Challenge of WNY continues to partner with Churches and schools in the Rochester area. TCWNY over the past year has ministered at local churches and have gone into the schools and have conducted a Drug Prevention Program. TCWNY has also volunteered as several of the churches outreaches.

    TCWNY is committed to helping men in the Rochester area that struggle with addiction and over the past year has had several Rochester area men come in and complete the Induction phase in Buffalo and are currently in Phase 2 of the program in Rehrersburg, PA.

 

 
    New Creation Women's Center

     We are excited about the opportunity to have a Women's program here in  Buffalo NY. We have purchased the property adjacent to our Buffalo Induction Center for men and plans are still in the works to start and open the home for Women. Efforts to raise funds are still underway however, our annual Women's Tea has been postponed this year. Donations are welcomed and volunteers are still needed.
