Kurt Tarkington graduated from the Teen Challenge Training Center in July 2003. He entered the program in August 2002, through the Peoria Teen Challenge in Illinois. His most recent position was serving as the Student Services Manager at the Training Center in Rehrersburg, PA since 2007. Kurt served 4 years in the United States Air Force and is working towards a BA in Sociology through the University of Missouri. Following graduation from Teen Challenge, Kurt served as a graduate student and then became an Intern. In 2005 he served the Training Center as an AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteer. In 2006 he became the Student Services Assistant. Kurt served as Vice President of the Alumni Association from 2007-2009 and was recently elected to serve as the President of the Alumni Association. He is a member of The Bridge Church in Hamburg, PA where he serves as Deacon.

Kurt has a contagious, enthusiastic spirit that reflects his personality, his leadership qualities, his love for this ministry and for the Lord.

Keith McWhite is from Camden, NJ and was a former student that graduated Teen Challenge in December 2000. Keith is also a TCMI Graduate and has worked at Las Vegas Teen Challenge, Rochester NY Teen Challenge and as a counselor at Teen Challenge Training Center in Rehrersburg, PA. As of July 2010 he became the Program Director that oversees the daily funcitons of the center. This includes the daily schedule, teaching classes and counseling students. Keith loves to minister and share the word with the men in our program. His life reflects his love and relationship with the Lord.

Carol along with her husband John have been volunteers for Teen Challenge for over 11 years. In May of 2005, Carol started working part time at the Buffalo Center as an Administrative Assistant. In December of 2008, she took on a full time position as Office Manager and Intake Director. Carol will help you through the Intake Process and answer any questions you have. She also organizes our Fund Raising events and plans our banquets. Carol and her husband have been married for 19 years and have six adult children, and four grandchildren.

A message from the Director:

Teen Challenge of Western New York is celebrating 32 years of ministry and is very thankful for our donors and advisors. We are grateful to have you stand by us through our first full year as the service center for Western New York. The year has been pivotal as we have seen transition in leadership and direction. We admitted 64 men in 2010 and transferred 15 to the Training Center. The TCWNY Choir ministered in 32 churches throughout the region; participated in 8 community outreach events; and joined with 8 schools to bring a message of hope through our drug awareness program. TCWNY has not abandoned the vision for the Women’s Center and will continue fundraising efforts in the near future. We give thanks to the Lord for your continued support, donations, and counsel, and look forward to 2011 as the year to IMPACT 100 LIVES for Jesus.
